About the Augmented Scale

The notes are root, sharp 2nd, 3rd, 5th, raised 5th and 7th. The steps go three half steps, then one half step, over and over.

It holds two augmented triads a half step apart. Jazz players use it over major 7th chords with a raised 5th.

Its shape repeats every four frets.
