About the Pelog (Balinese) scale

The notes are root, flat 2nd, flat 3rd, 5th and flat 6th. Gamelan instruments are tuned between the notes of a piano, so this is the closest twelve note match.

Two half steps and a wide gap from the flat 3rd to the 5th give it a bell like, dark sound.

Play it with a clean tone and let notes ring together, like gamelan bells.
