About the Hindu (Mixolydian b6) scale

It is the fifth mode of melodic minor. The bottom half is major, the top half is natural minor.

Over a dominant 7th chord it adds the flat 13th, a sound that leans toward a minor key.

Use it over the V7 chord of a minor key, such as G7 going to Cm.
