About the Kumoi 2 (In Scale)

The notes are root, flat 2nd, 4th, 5th and flat 6th. Two half steps, from the root to the flat 2nd and from the 5th to the flat 6th, give it a sad, plucked sound.

Japanese folk and koto music use this sound a lot. It is also called Miyako-bushi.

Play it on one string first, up and down. Every phrase that ends on the 5th sounds like a koto line.
