About the Ichikosucho scale

Gagaku is the old court music of Japan. Ichikosucho holds the major scale plus a raised 4th, eight notes in all.

With both the 4th and the raised 4th it can sound like major or like Lydian, depending on which note you stress.

Use the raised 4th as a step from the 4th up to the 5th.
